Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Caligraphy

In May last year I have been at the Tareq Rajab Museum of Islamic Caligraphy.
They had just opened and some rooms weren't finished then.
But it was already amazing and beautiful.

Here are some shots that I worked on a bit today (I think I've mentioned that my cam and low light don't cope too well....)

The Museum from the outside and the entrance (I was standing in the Middle of a Duststorm btw.).

One of the ceilings with beautiful lamps.
This one's at the entrance.

The hallway with a great, big tapestry in one wall and a place for the Amir with pictures upstairs (at least it looks like it).

And one of the tables in that area.

Beautiful pieces of art

They also have a place where you can press some prints and watch a movie about Calligraphy.

More pictures to come (one of these days)

Opening hours:

Saturday & Thursday - 9.00 a.m. to 12.00 p.m. and 4.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.

(Note: The picture were taken last year in May, BEFORE they put up signs saying “No Photography” and AFTER asking a guard for permission.)
